“International Startup Fest 2019 : Kathmandu” was organized with a motive to connect the growing Nepali startup culture with community leaders. This event serves to shape policy and share best practical with the greatest assets. The goal of the whole event is to ignite an entrepreneurial spirit within participants and inspired innovation that will become an enduring part of our culture.
The event started at around 11:00 am and witnessed a large number of participants. The advisory boards of the event consisted of Narottam Aryal (Executive Director at King’s College) and Sahaj Man Shrestha (Media coordinator). Also, We had our guest speakers Kabindra Burlakoti (Co-founder of Nepal Bikas Aviyan), and Prakash Tiwari (Director at Hotel Radisson and investment consultant) . The event began with a welcome speech by our very own Bandita Thapa who is Founder Chairman of Butterfly Ventures. The objective of the event was to strengthen the startup ecosystem in Nepal.
The main theme of this Startup fest is to create an proper startup ecosystem in Nepal. International Startup Fest 2019 is a platform dedicated to connecting the growing Nepali startup culture with community leaders, from political organizations to academia to incubators and accelerators. We, Butterfly Ventures, aim to accelerate and incubate new ideas and startups into sustainable business model with continuous mentorship, and guidance from team of experts, to groom up, and connect them to the other VCs and angel Investors. Butterfly ventures accelerates, motivates and inspires the young and innovative minds, help to turn grassroots ideas into solutions, growing entrepreneurial ecosystem to create jobs and drive economic growth.

Purpose:
Establish a complete ecosystem connecting and facilitating startups, investors’ technologist, philanthropists, policy makers and venture capital investors to stimulate Start Ups.
Objective:
Our objective is to develop a new national strategy and establish constructive policy through this collaboration platform. This will help participants establish the grass-roots movement to build the Start-Up ecosystem in Nepal. Our focus will always remain on assisting start ups and innovators, who creates their foundation for this new culture.
